The origins of Livas Clothing go back to the early 1980s where the company first established its first factory in London, UK. 

The ambitious nature of the founder of the company had the vision to become one of the leading producers of ladies garments in the market.

Although the company had success, and even though the availability of skilled labour in the UK enabled the expansion of the company, the market in production was limited in potential. Therefore, another factory was established in Cyprus in the early 1990s where after initial success, similar market conditions occurred.

Subsequently, in 1993 the company relocated to Romania where market trends showed huge potential in the production of ladies garments due to the availability of labour, lower production base costs and the country`s long heritage in the production of textiles and garments. Livas Clothing also had the advantage that it was one of the first foreign investors within the production of ladies garments within the country.

It all began with the set up of the first factory in Targoviste (Dambovita) and today the company has three production bases in Romania (Dambovita, Olt) and two in the Republic of Moldova (Soldanesti, Soroca). With over 600 employees and a production capacity of over 2,000,000 garments per year and with the strictest quality standards achieved, the company is considered as one of the leading companies in Romania in the production of ladies garments.

The success of the company is based on the professional approach within the business which is achieved through the technology and capabilities and knowledge acquired within the labour-force. This professional approach allows the company to be reliable and dependable which facilitates Livas Clothing to offer the best quality in production, quick delivery and competitive prices. At the same time, we value our relationships with our customers which are based on mutual respect and understanding.

Livas Clothing has consistently proven that it takes its corporate social responsibility very seriously by respecting all the stakeholders implied with our company. Beyond respecting law, ethical standards and industry national and global norms, our company has demonstrated its respect for the society it operates in by supporting local sports, schools and events among others. A major implication of the company was the sponsorship of the local women’s basketball club for 10 consecutive years and in result the team acquired many national trophies for the city of Targoviste, while the team also represented Romania in European games.

Furthermore, our company has been awarded by the Romanian Chamber of Commerce for consecutive and consistent outstanding performance in our industry throughout the years and we have received an Excellence award by the Embassy of Cyprus in Romania for our industrial contribution in Romania as Cypriot investors.

Over time, Livas Clothing has lived up to the high targets the founder of the company initially set out for and today our aim is to keep the high standards achieved and to consolidate our reputation as the leading company in the production of ladies garments in Romania and expand the company even further in the years to come.
